Blanche

This past Spring, we found on KSL and brought home an adopted dog named Blanche. She is a 6 year old Italian Spinone and is a very sweet and even tempered dog. She never barks, is completely potty trained, and is very tolerant with kids. The only problem we have with Blanche is that she is also a very scared dog. She's scared of the vacuum, the hardwood floors, but mostly she is scared of bells. Whenever I turn on the laundry or cook a meal in the microwave or oven or if I have a timer set, she shakes uncontrollably. The other day, after setting the timer for Addie to work on homework while I cleaned, I let Blanche out back so she wouldn't have to hear the timer go off. After the 30 minute of homework were done, I opened the door to let her back in and she was gone. I didn't worry because she has magicked her way out of our backyard and returned home safely before, so I continued cleaning my kitchen. As I was sweeping the front room, I noticed a big, dark dog sitting in our front yard. I opened the door to shew it away but instead, it came running into my house and headed upstairs. It was then that I realized the big, dark dog was in fact our big, white dog covered in mud! (My poor clean floors). I quickly grabbed her collar and lead her back outside to determine what to do. After calling Jardin, who was in Idaho taking the MCAT, we decided to leave her in the garage with food and water until he could come home to wash her, but not before taking a few pictures so Jar could get the full effect. However, Blanche knew she was in trouble and wouldn't turn around to face me. Needless to say, our dog is very odd and has quite the personality! It's a good thing we love her so much!

It's about time!!!

I've decided that it's about time I spent time working on our blog. Especially considering the last time I posted anything was 2 years ago! Obviously much has happened during that time including buying a house and moving to Lehi, Utah, studying for and preparing to go to medical school, and getting pregnant with baby #2. We've been the most excited about having our new little one come into our home. She is scheduled to be born on December 18, 2012 and we've decided to name her Elizabeth Claire, or as Addie says "Wittle Wizzie". I've have become more and more anxious for her to come, especially as 4 of my students parents have had their babies as well as my oldest sister, Chelsi. She had her little girl, Emery Jane, on November 9, 2012. I literally cannot wait for it to be our turn! Besides wanting the moodiness, achiness, tiredness, etc to end...I want to hold my little girl! Addie is very excited to be a big sister and refers to all her past experiences as "when I was a baby," even if the experience happened the day before. She also is making a list of things she wants to teach Lizzie and all the princess dresses she wants to buy for her. Here are some fun facts about this next birth...according to Addie: I will be having a girl-because only daddies have boys. She will not have any teeth but she will have a lot of hair-because girls have lots of hair and boys don't and we are having a girl. The baby will be coming out of my right big toe for the doctor to catch. I love 3 year old logic and can't bring myself to correct her, especially since she shares everything I teach her with everyone. I love being a mother and I love the idea of having a new little girl in our home! We all feel so blessed and can't wait to share our new little one with everyone. Look for her in 4 more weeks!

It's Autumn time, it's Autumn time

Addie loves the leaves this year! We were going to go to the store but she saw the leaves and wouldn't leave them for 30 minutes. She's so fun and loves to explore and experience every new thing. She will grab a whole handful and then say 'uh, uh, go!' (ready, set, go) and throw them into the air. It's too cute.

The Pulley's Entertainment Center

Jardin went up to Logan to build the Pulley's entertainment center on April 29th. Addie and I joined him that Saturday after my student's Concerto Competition. He built it extremely quick and was able to finish building it the following Monday, May 3rd. We, however, didn't get home til Thursday night because...we hate painting!!! So many things went wrong when Jar went to paint it and we ending up staying there 3 days longer. It was great to be with Jeff and Chelsi and the kids though and we are so happy that it turned out so perfect. Good job Jardin!

We were on a double date with our friend Leah McCormmick and went to Costa Vida and then bowling at Phat Catz in Provo.

The whole night was filled with fun talk and fun times. I love how the little things in life are the most meaningful!

Addie's First Birthday Party-April 3, 2010

Addie's first birthday was a fun one. Her favorite part was playing with the balloons and opening presents (she liked ripping the paper more than the actual presents). The worst part of the Bday was that Addie refused to get messy with her cake. She's just so dainty and didn't like touching the icing. She got 3 dresses and a pair of green jelly shoes from Grandma and Grandpa Christenson, another dress and a book from Grandma and Grandpa Gleason, yet another dress from aunt and uncle Pulley, a cute flowered outfit from aunt Amy, a big purple bouncy ball from uncle Mckay and a new carseat from Jardin and I. All in all, it was a fantastic birthday!
